The Brooklyn Museum...

The images above (click on the link) - exclusive to the Wooster site and provided by Banksy - are of Banksy installing four pieces in New York's most prestigious museums - The Brooklyn Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art, and the Museum of Natural History.

Dressed as a British pensioner, over the last few days Banksy entered each of the galleries and attached one of his own works, complete with authorative name plaque and explanation.

He says - "This historic occasion has less to do with finally being embraced by the fine art establishment and is more about the judicious use of a fake beard and some high strength glue." Banksy continues -"They're good enough to be in there, so I don't see why I should wait"

Staff at the New York Met discovered and removed their new aquisition early Sunday morning while Banksy's discount soup can print took pride of place in the MoMA for over three days before being torn down.

As of now, the other two pieces currently remain firmly in place...

Email from Paris

listening to: Push it by Garbage

This is an email a friend of mine sent me from Paris.

Hey y'all!

It felt really nice just typing that. I'm so sick of saying "bon jour" all the time...well, not really. Anyways, I'm having a blast over here in "gay pay-ree" and I just wanted everyone to know that I'm alive and that I haven't died from alcohol poisoning....yet. It's my last night here, so I'm saving the alcohol poisoning for later on tonight.

The other night I had a drink at the same bar that F. Scott Fitzgerald used to drink at. I even managed to sit at the same table he used to sit at. Then I puked in the same urinal he used to puke in. Then I had sex with Zelda Fitzgerald...well, her corpse, that is. Just kidding about the last two....I couldn't find her grave.

It's been snowing like crazy since I've been here, which is nice, but a lot of the things I wanted to see were closed down. I haven't been able to see Jim Morrison's grave until this morning. I hopped over the "security gate" around his grave and had a cigarette on his headstone. I also left a couple of personal affects on his grave from erika, julie and myself.

I just got kicked out of a latin club (I guess my salsa stylings were just too much for the french) and I somehow wound up at this internet cafe. I really should stop wasting time here and get back to defiling my liver, so I should go.

And, yes, it's true. I climbed to the top of the eiffel tower and I wrote our names on the observation deck (see picture).

Smell ya later,

~Pervynation

Leg Tingle

Fri 03.04.2005 @ 11:36 am
Listening to: Jet CD

Yesterday I spent more than eight hours straight on my feet. It doesn't sound like alot but to a person who doesn't have the best circulation it is horrible. By the end my legs tingled all over and it took me three hours to calm them down. The only good thing about all that is that for the last 3 hours I was developing pictures and one came out satisfactory. I'm not too pleased with it, but for the assignment I have to complete for monday it is good. I love taking pictures just not because I have to you know? I love candids and for a real nice candid shot you have to be patient, not take anything that moves just so you can make you class deadline.
John, I'll be uploading the James Van Praag pictures probably over the weekend. I should have brought my photography pictures to work with me today and scanned them over lunch. That'll have to be done next week so be patient small one. *smile*

Oh! And next thursday spring break starts for me! I could have sworn I had at least 2 more weeks. I still haven't bought a swimsuit. Oy. And I have a critique and test to study for for monday and tuesday.
